Postby CoachLeslie » Sat Jul 03, 2010 10:32 am

What: Community Sport clinic for novice coaches. The integrated program focuses on essentials over one day (eight hours of instruction), placing emphasis on safety, fun, ethics, teamwork, and values beyond the game. Training helps volunteers foster love of the sport, promote participation and teach basic skills to beginners through a variety of activities. For more information on the contents of this clinic, please see:

When: Saturday, July 17, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Where: Centennial Community Centre, 65 East 6th Avenue, New Westminster, BC. Adjacent to New Westminster's Canada Games Pool. See http://www.nwpr.bc.ca/parks%20web%20page/facility%20locations.html for driving directions and a map.

Who: This clinic is for coaches working with athletes 12-and-under (i.e. peewee, atom and flag coaches) who want to become trained in the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). If you are coaching older athletes (i.e. ages 13-18), please attend a Competition-Introduction (CI) clinic. A CI clinic is expected to be held in the Lower Mainland later in July.

Cost: $100 per attendee. This covers your NCCP Community Sport manual and workbook, and Football BC and Football Canada administration fees. Lunch is not provided, but there are several fast-food restaurants (e.g. Subway, McDonald's) within two blocks of the facility. Attendees are asked to have cash or a cheque from their association to pay for the clinic (cheques should be made payable to "Football BC").

Registration: Please email the Learning Facilitator (Ryan Leslie: rleslie@hyackfootball.com) to register. There is a limit to the number of participants that we can accommodate in this clinic, so registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis. All participants will need to complete a pre-clinic online evaluation, the details of which will be sent upon confirmation of registration.
